At UL Lafayette, students who perform in the Pride of Acadiana Marching Band or select School of Music ensembles are eligible for a range of scholarships, housing awards, and stipends—no music major required. Performing with us can significantly offset education costs while enriching your college experience.
Scholarship Overview
- Base Scholarship Award: Marching band members can receive a minimum of $600 per semester (fall only) upon successful participation and registration.
- Meal Plan Award: Students who already have an Academic Housing Award may be eligible for an additional Meal Plan Award worth $1,720 per semester (or $3,440 per academic year).

Housing Awards
Two housing-based scholarships are available to support the cost of on-campus living at UL Lafayette. These awards can be used for most campus housing options, including Legacy Park apartment-style residences.
Note: Housing awards cannot be applied to Heritage Apartments at this time.
- Pride of Acadiana Housing Award
- Value: $2,350 per semester ($4,700/year)
- Availability: Limited; awarded based on audition placement, need, and availability
- Marching Band Housing Assistance Award
- Value: $1,175 per semester ($2,350/year)
- Designed for: Band members needing additional housing support
Who’s Eligible?
- Open to all enrolled UL Lafayette students—no music major required
- Awards are based on audition, placement, and continued participation
- Students must participate in a spring ensemble (e.g., Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Winds, or Concert Band) to retain housing awards
How to Apply
There’s no separate application—auditioning for the Pride of Acadiana automatically places you in consideration for scholarships and housing support.
