Band Camp & Classes

Prepare for an unforgettable season.

Joining the Pride of Acadiana Marching Band means starting strong with Band Camp, earning course credit, and participating in rehearsals.

Band Camp (Required)

All members are required to attend Band Camp, which takes place the week before fall classes begin. Camp includes:

  • Music and drill instruction
  • Section bonding
  • Pep band and game-day prep
  • Full ensemble rehearsals

The full Band Camp schedule and Fall rehearsal calendar will be available in the Summer Newsletter.

UNIV 100 Info for Incoming Freshmen

If you're enrolled in UNIV 100, you are excused from attending the in-person Cajun Connection sessions during Band Camp.

Instead, you’ll complete a make-up online seminar, and your instructors will be notified of your band participation.

Rehearsals & Class Credit

Once the semester begins, rehearsals are held during the following times:

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday | 12:15–2:15 p.m. (Fall semester only)

Monday evening sectionals:

  • Drumline - 7 - 9 p.m.
  • Colorguard - 6 - 9 p.m.
  • Brass/Woodwinds - 7 - 9 p.m., alternating each week

Course Registration

Earn course credit as a Pride of Acadiana member:

  • AMUS 152 – for 1st and 2nd year members
  • AMUS 352 – for 3rd and 4th year members

These credits count toward your academic load each fall.
