All students have to demonstrate English language proficiency to be admitted to UL Lafayette.
Test Scores
To prove that you have English language proficiency, you must meet the minimum score on at least one of the following tests.

If you’re from a country where English is the official language or have completed all high school coursework from a country where English is the official language, you do not need to submit TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo scores to be considered for admission.
How to Submit Your Test Scores
Log in to your student account on the testing services’ websites to send your scores to UL Lafayette’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions:
- TOEFL test code: 6672
- Duolingo: Send to “University of Louisiana at Lafayette”
- ACT test code: 1612
- SAT test code: 6672
- IELTS: Scores must be sent to UL Lafayette directly from the testing center.
You can also have your high school send your scores to UL Lafayette’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions.

Intensive English Program
If you don’t meet the English Language Proficiency requirements, you can apply to UL Lafayette’s Intensive English Program.
The Intensive English Program provides academic English-language training to non-native English speakers here on campus.
