Ragin’ Cajuns® Waffle returns for limited run during football season

University of Louisiana at Lafayette supporters can get fired up for the upcoming football season – and College Colors Day on Friday – with the reappearance of Viva La Waffle’s Ragin’ Cajuns® Waffle.

The Ragin’ Cajuns® Waffle features a cane pepper jelly-glazed fried chicken breast topped with melted pepper jack cheese and crispy jalapeño strips. Viva La Waffle, a food truck turned brick-and-mortar restaurant, will offer the spirited waffle for a limited run this football season.

"The University is excited to once again partner with a local business owned and operated by an alum for this tasty, one-of-a-kind creation that's sure to appeal to Ragin' Cajuns fans,” said Leslie Saloom, UL Lafayette’s associate director of Trademark Licensing.

The Ragin’ Cajuns® Waffle will go on sale Friday, in time for fans to enjoy one before the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns square off against Northwestern State on Saturday at Cajun Field.

Viva La Waffle is located at 101 Liberty Ave. in Lafayette; the restaurant also has a location on campus, in Agnes Edwards Hall’s food court.
