Accepted Students

Congratulations on your admission to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette! You should be proud of your accomplishments. The combination of your personal and academic achievements makes you an ideal addition to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette family.

Undergraduate Students

What do I do now that I'm accepted?

The first step you should take as an accepted student is make sure that you have registered for Orientation. Orientation is where all incoming freshmen learn more about the traditions and services of the University. At Orientation, you officially become a student by registering your class schedule for next semester.

Have you filled out your housing application?

It is a University of Louisiana System policy that all incoming freshmen live on campus. The University provides suite style housing with multiple meal plan options. Fill out your housing application.

Graduate Students

What do I do now that I’m accepted?
You are encouraged to register for and attend Graduate Student Orientation.  It is typically held a day or two before classes begin each fall and spring semester.  At orientation, you will learn about several services available to graduate students, including the Graduate Student Organization, Student Health Services, and Career Services, to name a few.  You will also have the opportunity to tour campus, learn about library resources available to you in your studies, and meet other graduate students.

If you are admitted to an online, distance, graduate certificate, executive, or similar graduate program, there may be alternative orientation options for you.  Please contact the program to which you are admitted or the Graduate School to learn more.

We look forward to welcoming you to Graduate School!

How do I connect to my academic program?
Your admission letter lists the graduate coordinator for your graduate program.  You can find contact information under the link for your graduate program on the grad school website.  If you have not already done so, you are encouraged to establish and maintain contact with this faculty member.  They will be a valuable resource to you and will inform you of any program-specific orientation sessions, academic advising procedures, and/or the next steps you should take.

How do I register for classes?
First-time International Students:  You will register for classes and receive your ULink password after your arrival in the United States and after attending International Student Orientation.  Like all other students, you should communicate with your academic advisor to be advised on which courses to take and to have your academic advising hold removed.

All other graduate students: You will receive a letter from the university with your username (student ID) and password.  (If you forget or have lost your password, go to https://servicedesk.louisiana.edu to learn how to reset your password.)  Communicate with your academic advisor, often the graduate coordinator for your graduate program, to be advised on which courses to take and to have your academic advising hold removed.  Log into ULink and go to the “Students” tab.  You can view your registration appointment, register for courses, view any holds on your account, view your statement of account, and pay your balance.  Be sure to follow all posted deadlines regarding registration and payment so your classes are not dropped for non-payment.  View our current important dates and deadlines

How do I get my I-20?
International students should submit the required documents, if you have not already done so, to the Graduate School Office in order to be issued your I-20.  Visit the grad school site to find more information on the process and required documents.
