Wildflower seed bank at the UL Lafayette will help beautify Louisiana with native plantsThe University of Louisiana at Lafayette's newly completed Wildflower Seed Bank has facilities to cultivate, process and store native Louisiana plants. The new facility will provide the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development with wildflower seeds to plant along interstates and highways, and at state parks and welcome centers.

Growing wild flowers that reseed themselves will reduce mowing times and frequency, fuel costs, and carbon emissions from tractors and other equipment.
