The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business has extended accreditation for the business and accounting programs at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

As part of the AACSB’s recent re-accreditations, UL Lafayette’s B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration is just one of five to earn reaccreditation for both its business and its accounting programs.

Those programs are the only two for which accreditation is offered by the association, which is widely regarded as the most prestigious accrediting body in the world for business and accounting programs.

The AACSB re-evaluates schools every six years, a comprehensive process to ensure that its standards for strategic management and innovation, research, curricula development, and teaching and learning are met or exceeded.

The AACSB accredits 1,072 institutions in 70 countries and territories, according to a press release from the association. Only 195 of those schools have earned accreditation for their accounting programs.

“Every AACSB-accredited school has demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning. The intense peer-review process exemplifies their commitment to quality business education,” Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB, stated in the release.

Dr. Brian Bolton, interim dean of the Moody College of Business Administration, said “re-accreditation for both our business and accounting programs is the result of our strategic efforts to continuously evaluate and improve the ways we prepare our students to thrive in an ever-evolving workforce.”

“Our longstanding, demonstrated ability in doing that can be attributed to our faculty and staff members – as well as our students, alumni and scores of others – who work hard work to create a culture of excellence that we are extremely proud of,” Bolton added.

The Moody College of Business Administration offers bachelor’s degrees in accounting, economics, finance, hospitality management, insurance and risk management, management, marketing, and professional land and resource management.

It also offers an MBA, an MBA in health care administration, a master’s degree in accounting and several certificate programs.
