Schools, businesses recognized for "Paint the Town Red" displays

Four schools and six businesses have been recognized for their Ragin’ Cajun spirit and pride as part of the “Paint the Town Red” Homecoming competition.

A team of local celebrity judges chose winners in a range of categories for schools and for businesses. Judges look for the best and most creative displays of Homecoming and school spirit.

Businesses were judged Wednesday. Schools were judged Thursday.

School winners are:

  • Decorations – Broadmoor Elementary School
  • Academic connection – Prairie Elementary School
  • Spirit – Plantation Elementary School
  • Skit – Ridge Elementary School

Business winners are:

  • Exterior decorations – Lowry’s Printing and Copying (first place) and Cox Communications (runner-up)
  • Interior decorations – Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office (first place) and Garden View Assisted Living (runner-up)
  • Skit – Ottinger Hebert law firm (first place) and Allure Enhancement Center (runner-up)
