NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns officially arrived in New Orleans on Tuesday as it began preparations for the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Saturday against Tulane.
The Cajuns made the short trip from Lafayette and were greeted at the team hotel by Sun Belt Conference commissioner Karl Benson, who presented the team and head coach Mark Hudspeth with the league trophy. The Cajuns clinched a share of the Sun Belt Conference championship, their first since 2005, in the home finale against ULM on Nov. 30.
Louisiana will hold its first practice on Wednesday in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome before enjoying a team outing in the evening.
Kickoff for Saturday's game against Tulane is scheduled for 8 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
