A group of University of Louisiana at Lafayette students representing its 65-member Ragin’ Cajuns Esports team won the Eastern College Athletic Conference Rainbow 6 Siege playoff tournament.

The Ragin’ Cajuns Esports’ Rainbow 6 Siege red team members are Jacob Gracianette, Noah Guidroz, Paul Justin, Ridge LeBouef, Dustin Lowe Jr., Deion Onezine, Kadyn Savoie, Nathan Touchet and Reagan Wolf. Elijah Manuel is the team’s captain.

In addition to the Rainbow 6 Siege team, Ragin’ Cajuns Esports team member Taijea "KayLay" Ledet placed second in the Eastern College Athletic Conference’s Tekken 8 playoff tournament.

The ECAC’s Rainbow 6 Siege and Tekken 8 online tournaments were completed in late December. Each tournament – whose names refer to popular video games in electronic sports, or Esports, contests – featured about 90 competitors.

The ECAC’s Esports program includes about 160 schools that field some 1,100 teams that compete in 14 different Esports games. Seven-week regular seasons of online tournaments are held each spring and fall semester. Playoffs that feature between 16 and 32 of the best teams or players from their respective divisions follow.
