New Officers Elected To Lite Commission

Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE) announced the election of new officers to the LITE Commission for the 2008-2009 fiscal year. Dr. Bradd E. Clark will serve as Chairman of the LITE Commission, Mr. Robert Fudickar will serve as Vice-Chairman, and Mr. James H. Prince has been re-elected as Secretary/ Treasurer.

" I am thrilled to lead a state initiative such as LITE this year,” said Clark. “I have always felt that the value of science and technology can be found in the way that they aid people in solving their day-to-day problems. The science and technology capabilities at LITE will allow us to work on projects which will have profound effects on the economic environment in the state."

Dr. Carolina Cruz-Neira, LITE’s Executive Director, said, “I am delighted to have Dr. Clark as Chairman of the LITE Commission, Mr. Fudickar as Vice-Chair and Mr. Prince as Secretary/Treasurer. The three of them bring excellent balance of technology advancement and economic development to support and further LITE’s activities.”

Clark is the Dean of the Ray P. Authement College of Sciences at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and has served on the LITE Commission for the past two years. He joined the USL faculty in 1976. His organizational memberships include IEEE/Computer Science, Mathematical Association of America and the Aviation Historical Society. Clark has served as Editor for The Proceedings of the Louisiana-Mississippi Section of the MAA since 1999. He is the recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award, presented by the Louisiana/Mississippi Section of the Mathematical Association of America in 2000 and has been a Mentor for the Project NEXT program since 1999.

Fudickar is the Director of the Technology Industry for Louisiana Economic Development and is beginning his second year on the LITE Commission. He brings a wealth of experience in technology-based economic development to the commission. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Louisiana Technology Council, a member of the Board of Directors of Southern Growth Policies Board‘s Southern Technology Council and is also a member of the Louisiana Optical Network Initiative (LONI) Management Council.

Prince is the retired CFO of Stone Energy Corporation and is the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA). He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, the Board of Trustees of the UL Lafayette Foundation and the Executive Advisory Council of the B.I. Moody II College of Business Administration at UL Lafayette among many other affiliations.
