Fortune Education ranks MBA program online among nation’s best

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration continues to earn high marks for its MBA program online.

Its most recent ranking is from Fortune Education, which has placed the program at No. 29 in the country on its Best Online MBA Programs in 2022 list. Fortune is a global media organization that publishes a business magazine of the same name.

The Fortune Education recognition is noteworthy for several reasons, including the program’s high national ranking. Last year, the UL Lafayette’s MBA program online was No. 55 in Fortune Education's regional rankings.
The Fortune Education rankings, which were created last year, are based on many elements. They include surveys, academic strength of incoming students, graduation and retention rates, and overall enrollment. Other considerations include colleges and universities with alumni who hold high positions at Fortune 1000 companies, and strength of an institution’s brand.

P. Robert Viguerie Jr. is the associate dean for graduate and executive programs for the Moody College of Business Administration. He also directs the college's MBA program. Viguerie attributes the recognition to many factors, including the overall quality of the University’s MBA program. The MBA curriculum is the same whether students are enrolled part-time, full-time, on campus or online.

Viguerie also singled out competitive tuition rates and faculty and staff member support for online MBA students. “We are committed to using open educational resources whenever possible and, if a textbook is required, it is included in the cost of the tuition,” he explained.

Online MBA students – like students who pursue traditional delivery options – receive comprehensive guidance, Viguerie added. “Staff members that include myself, academic advisors, online enrollment specialists and others consult with students by phone and email based on what is most convenient for them.”

Dr. Mary Farmer Kaiser, dean of the Graduate School, said recognition for the MBA program online symbolizes a University-wide commitment “to offering quality graduate programs across disciplines to increase access to educational and career advancement opportunities for working adults.”

“Online delivery of our graduate programs, including the MBA online, is an extension of the transformative programs we offer on campus. They are the same programs, with the same rigor, designed by the same innovative faculty,” she added.

In addition to the Fortune Education ranking, the University’s MBA program online was recently recognized by the Princeton Review, which included it on the Best Online MBA Programs for 2022 list.
