Supply drive supports new teachers who are College of Education grads

It’s time to Stock the Classroom.

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette College of Education's Alumni Chapter and the University’s Educators Rising Collegiate Chapter are sponsoring a back-to-school supply drive for new teachers.

Supplies will be collected from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, in the parking lot of Maxim Doucet Hall, 1401 Johnston St. Donated items will support new teachers who’ve graduated from UL Lafayette’s educator preparation programs.

Needed items include:

  • Children’s books;
  • Classroom materials and office supplies, such as pencils, crayons, sticky notes, card stock, tape and dry erase markers;
  • Educational materials, such as magnetic letters, dice and cubes;
  • Games, puzzles and toys; 
  • Outdoor classroom items, such as beach towels and clipboards; and
  • Recess and physical education supplies, such as jump ropes, Frisbees and coloring books.
