It’s time to Stock the Classroom.
The University of Louisiana at Lafayette College of Education's Alumni Chapter and the University’s Educators Rising Collegiate Chapter are sponsoring a back-to-school supply drive for new teachers.
Supplies will be collected from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 24, in the parking lot of Maxim Doucet Hall, 1401 Johnston St. Donated items will support new teachers who’ve graduated from UL Lafayette’s educator preparation programs.
Needed items include:
- Children’s books;
- Classroom materials and office supplies, such as pencils, crayons, sticky notes, card stock, tape and dry erase markers;
- Educational materials, such as magnetic letters, dice and cubes;
- Games, puzzles and toys;
- Outdoor classroom items, such as beach towels and clipboards; and
- Recess and physical education supplies, such as jump ropes, Frisbees and coloring books.
