Biography

Dr. Patrick J. Rydell retired as the Founder and Director of Rocky Mountain Autism Center (RMAC), Inc. in Lone Tree, Colorado, in 2018, and is currently is the Founder and Director of Autism On Call, LLC, the training and consultation affiliate of RMAC. He is also a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Communicative Disorders Department and on the Graduate Faculty at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. Dr. Rydell is the co-author of the SCERTS Model (Prizant, Wetherby, Rubin, Laurent & Rydell, 2006) and author of the Learning Style Profile for Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (LSP) (Rydell, 2012). He is a U.S. Fulbright Senior Specialist Grant recipient (2005; Sri Lanka). Dr. Rydell has co-authored 5 book chapters and numerous peer-reviewed research articles on topics related to autism spectrum disorders. He is a Northern Speech Services, Inc. developer and instructor for continuing education and has created a series of ASD ecourses, epubs, and training videos for parents and professionals. Dr. Rydell previously hosted a weekly online radio show, Autism Today with Dr. Pat, on VoiceAmerica Radio that focused on autism spectrum disorder therapy and treatment ideas, tips and strategies for professionals and parents.


With more than 42 years of professional practice in the field of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Dr. Rydell frequently conducts international and national training, workshops, consultations and program development to government agencies, medical facilities, universities, state associations, school districts, professionals and families. He has served as the lead ASD consultant for many school districts across the U.S. Dr. Rydell provides international LSP certifications and trainings to professionals world-wide, including Argentina, Kazakhstan and China. Sino-US Star Bridge Program, Shanghai, China, and Chinese Children’s Hospital’s fourteen affiliates have adopted the Learning Style Profile approach for their ASD assessment and intervention programs.


Dr. Rydell hosted a weekly online radio show, Autism Today with Dr. Pat, in 2012 on VoiceAmerica Radio. His radio show focused on autism spectrum disorder therapy and treatment ideas, tips and strategies for professionals and parents.
