Biography

Nadya Kozinets is an Associate Professor at the Interior Design Department of the School of Architecture and Design. She is a native Russian who came to the United States in the early 1990s from Ukraine. She received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities) and holds an MFA in Interior Architecture from Columbia College in Chicago, IL. Nadya has an extensive professional experience with various architectural and interior design firms in Minneapolis and Chicago. She has participated in the design of large-scale office, retail, hospitality, medical, research, and training facilities.

Nadya teaches primarily interior design studios and supporting courses. Prior to SoAD, Nadya taught at Kent State University (Kent, OH) and Harrington College of Design (Chicago, IL). Nadya’s research interests lie in the history and transformation of prefabricated multi-story apartment housing in Ukraine and the former USSR.
