Arturo Magidin

Dr. Arturo Magidin's main areas of research are Group Theory and General Algebra. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1998, under the direction of George M. Bergman. He was then a Researcher at the Instituto de Matematicas of the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico from 1998 through 2002, and was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics of the University of Montana in Missoula from 2002 through 2005. He joined UL's Department of Mathematics in 2005.  As Graduate Coordinator, Dr. Magidin helps continuing students navigate the program and requirements.
