Annika Miller

Biography
Originally from Kuopio, Finland, Annika Miller is a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette School of Architecture and Design. She teaches the beginning design studio sequence for freshman entering their studies in Architecture, Interior, and Industrial Design. She also teaches Industrial Design support classes, as well as DSGN 235: Introduction to Design and Computer class for the second-year students in SoAD.
Over the years, Miller has gained experience working in design firms both in the United States and overseas. Since founding her design firm, AKKIKA, she has won numerous international design awards for her designs and is persistently rethinking daily design concepts ranging from 2D to 3D. Through AKKIKA, Miller seeks to place the user in the center of each of its designs and is constantly pushing the boundaries of materiality, production methods, and cost efficiency.
