The Louisiana Watershed Flood Center is leading the effort to establish a Lafayette-based center for flood research and education.
The Flood Center provides research and development capabilities in different areas related to floods, focusing on integrated watershed solutions. Our research includes:
- Design of watershed monitoring systems for real-time flood alert and warning applications
- Flood forecasting and hazard identification
- Probabilistic analysis and prediction of extreme events
- Radar-rainfall applications in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
