The Energy Institute of Louisiana explores all matters regarding energy development, usage, policy, and its impact on the environment and people.

The Energy Institute of Louisiana is a world-class energy advocate that focuses on energy industry developments from technical, ecological, and humanistic perspectives.

We have five key interdisciplinary research areas: power usage and conservation, environmental protection, policy development, and eco-sociological impacts.

The Energy Institute's research facilities include the Cleco Alternative Energy Center and the Photovoltaic Applied Research and Testing Laboratory. The institute is composed of five centers: the Center for Optimization of Petroleum Systems, the Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainable Energy, the Chemical and Fuels Development Center, and the Center for Environmental Protection.
