David Begnaud, '05, won a prestigious George Polk Award for public service after his relentless coverage of Hurricane Maria and its aftermath in Puerto Rico.
But few viewers watching his reporting in Puerto Rico knew how improbable it was that he would ever have a career in broadcasting, much less one on the world stage.
