University Resumes Regular Class Schedule, Operations

Published

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette resumed its regular class schedule and all operations on Thursday, September 4, 2008.

The decision to reopen was based on several factors including that the campus is fully operational, power has been restored, and the university wishes to minimize changes in its academic calendar and regular work schedule.

Furthermore, university officials are concerned that an already active hurricane season with other tropical storms brewing could result in the need for future campus closures.

Any students, faculty or staff who are severely impacted by Hurricane Gustav should not put themselves at risk in any way. Students who were unable to return to class on Thursday or Friday, should contact the Dean of Students Office at (337) 482-6272 or email deanofstudents@louisiana.edu to discuss their circumstance.

Accommodations will be made for students with legitimate excuses.

Faculty and staff who were unable to return to work on Thursday or Friday should contact their supervisors directly.
