Symphonic, Concert Bands To Perform Free Concert

UL Lafayette’s Symphonic and Concert Bands will perform in the Ducrest-Gilfry Auditorium at Angelle Hall on Feb. 29 at 7:30 p.m. during a free concert. Brian S. Taylor conducts both ensembles.

UL Lafayette Flute Professor Dr. Andrea Kappell Loewy will be the special guest. She will perform Kent Kennan's Night Soliloquy and Giulio Briccialdi's Carnival of Venice Theme and Variations. Encanto by Robert Smith, When the Stars Began to Fall spiritual setting by Fred J. Allen, An Irish Rhapsody by Clare Grundman, and Bombasto March by O.R. Farrar will be performed by the Concert Band.

In addition to Dr. Loewy's selections, the Symphonic band will perform Windsprints by Richard Saucedo, Shenandoah setting by Frank Ticheli, Satiric Dances by Norman Dello Joio, and The Billboard March by John Klohr.

Both bands are composed of UL Lafayette students that represent most majors on campus including a large amount of music majors.
