How to Promote Your Events on Campus

Parks and Rec gif: April, I need you to get the word out, with whatever method of communication young people are using these days.

If you are planning an event for the summer or fall, use these tools to promote your event on campus.

University Events Calendar

The most important thing you can do is put your event on the calendar. Enter your event one time on your website’s calendar, and it will automatically be included in three places:

The University’s calendar has an average of 5,000 views each month!

Campus Digital Signs

There are over 70 digital signs across campus. Create a graphic for your event, sized 1280 pixels wide by 1024 pixels tall, with the who, what, where, when, and a brief why. Email it to winder@louisiana.edu and it will be uploaded to the digital signs for you.

Digital signs are also displayed in ULink on the homepage. This provides visibility to students and employees both on- and off-campus.

Need help creating a graphic? We can help; email us at winder@louisiana.edu. Learn more about what to include on your graphic.

Monday Messages on Snapchat

The University posts flyers and graphics of upcoming events on its Snapchat account every Monday afternoon as part of its “Monday Messages.” An average of 1,300 students view these messages weekly.

If you send a graphic for the digital signs, it will automatically be included in the Monday Messages. You can also email your images and flyers to socialmedia@louisiana.edu for inclusion.
