Help us help you with events

you talking to me gifHey, awesome web ambassador. Yeah, I'm talking to you.

You have been so great about using your sites to create events, which are set up to show up on the University's calendar.louisiana.edu site. Because you've been such rock stars, we found a glitch in our system that keeps your events from appearing on calendar.louisiana.edu. The system still works, but to keep it operating smoothly, we have to add an extra step.

There's a lot of technical speak involved, but just know that you can still use your site as normal. Please keep entering events on your sites — but when you do, please email me at webcontent@louisiana.edu or email Aimee at web@louisiana.edu. When you tell us you've created an event, we can then manually tell the event to appear on the calendar (instead of it happening automatically like it used to). The same goes for editing an event.

A sample email would look like this:

Hey, Aimee/Elizabeth! Just letting you know that I created a new event on my site. Please push your magic button so it shows up on calendar.louisiana.edu.

And then we'll write back:

Sure thing! It's done now. Thanks for letting us know!

Easy-peasey.

Please know that this is just a temporary issue with a temporary fix. Our plan is to have it fixed in the next couple of weeks, and then things will be back to normal.

Take a quick second to open up a new tab in your browser and Google your department/school/college/office. Hopefully, if you included "UL Lafayette" in the search, your site should be the first to come up.
