Making Changes for the New ULink

Over the next few months, we will be transitioning from the old ULink to a new ULink portal, as part of the University's transition to the Banner data system.

We launched the first piece of the new ULink this week: Fall 2016 advising and registration! Upcoming launches include employee information, academic records, financial aid, student billing, budgeting, and grades.

As we move into the new ULink there are things we need to change or alter on our sites so they fit with the new system.

Check Your Links

Any time you mention and/or link to ULink, make sure the link is to portal.louisiana.edu and not ulink.louisiana.edu. That will ensure everyone is sent to the correct login page for ULink.

Check Your Written Processes

If you have written out or explained any processes on your site, check periodically to make sure they're still accurate. For instance, if you explain the advising process on your site, make sure that you clarify that advising and registration for fall 2016 and beyond is happening in the new ULink.

Keep Up With the Changes

Most processes will change as we move into the new ULink. If you have instructions on your site somewhere that reference ULink, keep up with the changes so you can edit your pages to reflect the changes.

To keep up with when you need to make the changes, visit the ERP Project Timeline. It'll give you a rough idea of when site edits will be needed. Everyone will also receive emails when something is switched from the old ULink to the new ULink, so keep an eye out for those, too.
