Financial Aid for Online Students

As an online student, you can use financial aid toward your degree or certificate program, if you qualify.

To determine if you qualify for grants or loans, you must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®). Submit the application each year to receive financial aid awards. The University of Louisiana at Lafayette’s Title IV school code is 002031.

If you’d like to learn more about types of aid and eligibility, the University’s Office of Student Financial Aid has compiled a comprehensive list of resources for you. If you have any questions about Financial Aid at UL Lafayette or filling out the FAFSA, contact the University’s dedicated Financial Aid Specialist for online students at faonline@louisiana.edu.

Are Payment Plans Available?

You have the option to pay tuition in installments each semester using a Payment Plan option, which can be especially helpful if you're paying tuition out of pocket.

To enroll in the Pay Plan Option, you must complete the process through ULink. The Student Cashier Center does not accept Payment Plan enrollment or Payment Plan payments in person.

Follow these steps to enroll in the Payment Plan:

  • Log in to ULink;
  • Identify the Tuition & Statement of Account card;
  • Click “View Statement or Pay Bill;”
  • Select the “Payment Plan” tab;
  • Click “Enroll Now;”
  • Agree to the terms of the Payment Plan Contract

You’ll need to pay 25% of your tuition as a deposit and a $50 processing fee. The remaining three payments will be 1/4 of the balance in your account each. The plan will recalculate any changes in your account.

The Payment Plan must be completed by the established deadlines. You can elect to have your payments schedule on the appropriate deadlines

The Fall and Spring term Payment Plans have four installments. The Summer Payment Plan has three installments.
