School of Architecture & Design Financial Aid and Scholarships

Supporting your talent—and your future.

There are many avenues for financing your education. Find out how financial aid and scholarships can help the financial pressure.

School of Architecture & Design Scholarships

At UL Lafayette’s School of Architecture and Design, we believe that talent and creativity should be nurtured — not limited by finances. That’s why we offer scholarships that recognize academic excellence, outstanding design work, and leadership potential in our students.

In addition to University-wide scholarships available through the Office of Scholarships, School of Architecture and Design students can apply for scholarships created specifically for our programs — including awards for academic and design achievement at every level, plus travel scholarships to support Study Abroad and other design-related travel opportunities.

Graduate Assistantships

As a Master of Architecture student, you may be eligible for a graduate assistantship — a valuable opportunity to support your education financially while gaining hands-on experience in a professional academic setting.

Graduate assistants (GAs) typically work up to 20 hours per week in roles that support faculty, research initiatives, or university departments. Within the School of Architecture and Design, this might include assisting with studio instruction, helping faculty with design research, or contributing to department projects and operations.

In exchange, graduate assistants receive a tuition and fee waiver and a monthly stipend. Beyond the financial benefits, GA positions provide real-world experience, mentorship opportunities, and skills that enhance your résumé and readiness for architectural practice after graduation.

If you're interested in a graduate assistantship within the School of Architecture and Design, please contact Ashlie Boelkins for more information on available opportunities and the application process.

If you're interested in a graduate assistantship outside of the School of Architecture and Design, please contact the UL Lafayette Graduate School.
