Job Description & Qualifications

We are seeking a Design Coordinator to join our team. We are a local general contractor, looking to hire an organized, dependable individual who is seeking part-time employment. Opportunity for growth is available with flexible scheduling. Ideal position for Interior Design major or someone with interest or previous experience in the field of design, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Work with and communicate daily with interior designers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Track client design finishes and fixture selections and changes, communicate selections and changes with team members as it relates to the construction process.
  • Originate and maintain interior design schedules within required deadlines; modify design documentation to maintain accurate project records.
  • Work from beginning of construction phase through end of construction phase, to assist clients with available selections, providing samples, and determining final selections in the home-building process.
  • Translate information from architectural/building plans as it relates to design needs.
  • Active team participant, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
  • Develop and implement design strategies and tracking tools that align with company goals and client needs.
  • Maintain organization of digital and office file systems; communicate changes or modifications related to file systems or documentation to team.
  • Oversee multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Function in a professional manner, as to build and foster client relationships and maintain open communication with clients and others related to the project.
  • Communicate regularly with General Contractor, Project Estimators, Projector Managers, Accounting Manager, field employees, subcontractors, and suppliers to coordinate client needs.
  • Comfortable participating in meetings regularly, with the need to discuss and review design concepts during construction meetings.
  • Display knowledge of or willing to learn fundamentals in construction as it relates to the field of design.
  • Display professionalism and honesty when working with clients, team members, and others involved throughout the entire construction process.
  • Photography and social media content manager.
  • Responsible for coordination and ordering of marketing materials and other business products.

Qualifications

  • Prefer Interior Design major or someone with related work experience, or in a related field.
  • Previous experience in business or business administration is a plus.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, team members and suppliers.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must have experience with Excel.
