If you’re age 60 or above and are interested in taking university classes, now is your chance to take advantage of a unique opportunity offered by University College.
The UL Lafayette “60 plus” program is making it easy and affordable for seniors to enroll in university courses on the main campus or selected on-site locations in the community.
Senior citizens can register for up to three hours of college credit at a rate of $6.25 per credit hour. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn something new or enroll in a course that has always piqued your interest.
Are you interested in other cultures? Then “The History of World Religions” may be just what you are searching for. Would you like to learn more about Louisiana Folklore? University College has the right course for you.
Seniors interested in university courses should apply under the DOORS program. This special admissions program waives certain standard requirements such as transcripts and standardized test scores. However, you may still be required to meet individual course requirements or take the DOORS placement exams before enrolling in any Math or English classes.
The 60 plus program also offers special sections of source courses at local senior centers. Currently, courses are offered in cooperation with the following centers/agencies: Beau Sejour Estates in Carencro, Francis Romero Memorial Building in Coteau, School Days Apartments in New Iberia, The Greenhouse and The Rosehouse, both in Lafayette.
