Our Community

Our community is made up of unique organizations and individuals who share a commitment to academic excellence, civic engagement, and the Ragin’ Cajun spirit.

With more than 20 fraternities and sororities across four governing councils, our community offers a place for everyone to belong. Each council has its own history, values, and traditions, but all share the same purpose: to empower students to become leaders on campus and beyond.

Our Councils

Fraternities and sororities at UL Lafayette are organized into four councils, each representing a different part of the Greek experience:

• Interfraternity Council (IFC) — governing body for men’s fraternities
• Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) — representing organizations founded on cultural and identity-based values
• National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) — representing historically Black fraternities and sororities
• Panhellenic Council (CPC) — governing body for women’s sororities
