Outstanding Senior Students Program

Get a jump start on your graduate studies! 

Qualified seniors have the option to take a maximum of 6 hours of graduate credit per semester while finishing their bachelor’s degree. 

To be eligible, you must be a UL Lafayette student and must meet either of the following circumstances:  

  1. If you are a graduating senior who has a grade-point average of at least 3.0 in all course work pursued and who lacks no more than 7 semester hours for the completion of the baccalaureate degree.  

  1. If you hold senior standing with at least 40 hours of course work on the 300 level or above, have an overall grade-point average of at least 3.0 on all work pursued, and are within 9 hours of completing undergraduate requirements in your major field.  

If you meet the above eligibility requirements and would like to apply for the Outstanding Senior Students Program, you should submit the following application materials to the Graduate School:  

  • Online application (Complete the online application here.)  

  • Non-Refundable Application fee  

  • Official transcripts from all universities attended. We will get your UL Lafayette transcript; you will need to submit transcripts for any other university you attended.  

  • Official GRE or GMAT scores as required by the program. Please see our graduate program list for details.  

  • Three letters of recommendation  

  • Any additional application materials required by the graduate program  

You will also need to request a letter of support from the Dean of your college verifying that you 1) have applied for graduation and 2) meet the eligibility requirements above. The Dean of your college should submit this letter of support to the Graduate School.

Graduate courses taken may not be used for both undergraduate and graduate credit. 

Once accepted into the Outstanding Senior Students Program, you will be assessed graduate-level tuition and fees for all courses on your class schedule. Visit the Bursar’s website to see graduate-level tuition rates as compared to undergraduate-level tuition rates.
