All Fall 2025 Semester Permits Expire Dec. 31

All Fall 2025 parking permits will expire on Wednesday, Dec 31. This includes all semester permits for residential and commuter students, student workers, adjuncts and graduate assistants. Anyone with a current Fall 2025 permit who needs to park on campus after Dec. 31 should purchase a Spring 2026 parking permit.

Spring 2026 Semester Parking Permit Information

Parking permits for residential and commuter students and a new limited commuter campus permit will be available for purchase at 12:01 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16. Permits for the Girard Park Circle Parking Garage will be available beginning at 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 16. These permits will be active from Thursday, Jan 1, through Sunday, May. 31.

Spring 2026 student worker and Graduate Assistant permits will be available for purchase beginning at 12:01 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 17. These permits will be active from Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026, through Sunday, May. 31. Graduate Assistant permits will be available again for zones 17GA and PER.

Permit Types

Residential Student Parking Permits are for students living on campus. They are sold according to your housing facility and cost $40.

  • Each permit may be attached to one vehicle. If you need to change the vehicle on your permit, you must email geauxpark@louisiana.edu
  • You may have a residential permit and a Commuter Cajun Field Permit simultaneously.
  • Families residing in Cajun Village who need to purchase a second permit for an additional driver may do so for $20 each semester. The second permit may only be purchased in the Office of Transportation Services.

Effective Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, a Residential Handicap Parking permit will be required to park in any designated handicap parking space in a residential parking zone. It may be used in the permitted residential zone only. It does not allow parking in handicap or regular parking spaces anywhere else on campus.

Purchase your permit online

Email a scan of your driver’s license, mobility-impaired card, and placard (or vehicle registration if it is a state-issued handicap license plate) for review. An email will be sent within two business days either notifying you of approval or requesting additional information. Once approved, you will be able to purchase the permit online.

Purchase your permit in person

Bring your driver’s license, mobility-impaired card, and placard (or vehicle registration if it is a state-issued handicap license plate) to the Transportation Services office. The permit will be sold once the credentials are reviewed.

Cajun Field Commuter Permit allows parking at Cajun Field only. The permit is free, but you must obtain a new permit every semester through the parking portal to park at Cajun Field.

  • Buses run from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and stop in the following order:
    • Cajun Field (Gate D)
    • Bourgeois Hall (heading toward campus)
    • Rex Street (Agnes Edwards Hall)
    • Bourgeois Hall (heading toward Cajun Field)
  • This is not a night permit. Commuter students may have a commuter permit and a night permit simultaneously.

Commuter Handicap Parking Permits will be available online for those who have met approval requirements.

  • If you have previously purchased a Commuter Student Handicap parking permit and your state-issued handicap credentials are still active, you may email geauxpark@louisiana.edu to request to purchase your permit online each semester.  
  • If you have never purchased a handicap parking permit at the University, you may send a scan of your driver’s license, mobility-impaired card, and placard or vehicle registration to geauxpark@louisiana.edu for review. A confirmation email will be sent within two business days notifying you of approval or requesting additional information.

Girard Park Circle Parking Tower Permit guarantees parking on the third through sixth floors of the garage on all class days. It is not a night permit and does not allow parking elsewhere on campus. A limited number of permits are available for $350 per semester. 

Wilson Street Lot Permit allows parking in the lot at 712 Wilson St., one block south of campus. The permit is $250 and is available on a very limited basis.

New for the Spring 2026 semester, a $40 permit will be offered to commuter students for parking in a newly designated location on the main campus. The permitted parking location for this permit may be found on the UL Campus Parking Zone Map as Zone 17C. There are a limited number of these permits available on a first come, first serve basis. Parking with this permit will be restricted to the two areas designated on the map.

  • Two permits are available at a very limited availability as follows:
  • Permits are $40 per fall or spring semester.
  • A shuttle runs from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. Monday through Friday and stops in the following order:
    1. 611 St. Landry St.
    2. The Student Union
    3. Rex Street
    4. Café Fleur de Lis in Legacy Apartments
    5. S. Campus Drive behind Cajun Village family living
    6. The Club House at The Heritage Apartments.  

Night Permits are available to commuter students and allow parking in designated areas after 3 p.m. They are $25 per semester. A map of the night permit parking areas is available on the Zone Listings & Maps webpage.

Graduate Assistant permits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through online and in-person sales in the Transportation Services office for $40.

  • Two GA permits are available for purchase each fall and spring semester. Once a permit is purchased, you may park in your permitted area only during that semester. Permit locations are as follows:

Student Aide permits are limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis through online and in-person sales in the Transportation Services office for $40.

  • If you want to purchase a permit, you must have your supervisor submit your name to Transportation Services to be placed in a pool of those eligible to buy one.

Permit Purchase Options

Purchase Online

  1. Log into ULink.
  2. On the Parking & Transportation card, select the Access My Parking Account link to enter the Parking Portal.
  3. Select Get Permits and follow the prompts to complete the transaction.

Your permit is successfully purchased when you receive a confirmation email to your University-issued email address. If you do not receive confirmation, email geauxpark@louisiana.edu.

Purchase In Person

  • Visit the Office of Transportation Services at 619 McKinley St., suite 100.
  • Bring your student ID, vehicle registration, and payment.
    • Payments accepted include debit/credit cards, money orders, and Cajun Cash. Checks and cash are not accepted.

Transportation Service's lobby hours are from 7:30 a.m. until 4:45 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 7:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. on Friday.
