We can't wait to see you at SOUL Camp! To ensure a seamless and positive camp experience, please review all of the details below thoroughly. 

SOUL Camp Dates

  • SOUL Camp A: August 6-9, 2025
  • SOUL Camp B: August 11-14, 2025

Camper information for Summer 2025 is still being finalized and is expected to be available in June 2025. 

Registered campers will receive email updates as SOUL Camp approaches. Campers should check their email regularly. SOUL Camp information will be communicated to the email address provided during New Student Orientation. 

Camp Check-In & Parking

Residential Camper Check-In

Students living on campus for the Fall semester are able to move into their residence hall early! SOUL Camp Check-In and Housing Move-In occur from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Day 1 of your registered camp session. 

Move-In details will be available in the summer of 2025 and will be communicated to registered campers via email.

 

Residential Camper Parking

Residential campers will park in their assigned parking zone for the Fall 2025 semester. Parking permits for the Fall 2025 semester are expected to go on sale through ULink in early August. 

To obtain your Fall 2025 parking permit:

  1. Log into ULink with your ULID and password. 
  2. Access the Parking & Transportation card. 
  3. Click "Access My Parking Account."
  4. Follow the prompts to register your vehicle and purchase your permit. 

Important Parking Notes

  • Please do not leave valuables in your vehicle. We are not responsible for items that may be lost or stolen during Camp.
  • All vehicles must park head in so that your license plate is visible from the aisle. 
  • Residential parking permits cost $40 per semester. 
  • If you don't see the $40 residential permit option, check back the next business day to see if your parking portal has been updated.

Commuter Camper Check-In

Students NOT living on campus for the Fall semester will check into an on-campus residence hall for the duration of SOUL Camp. SOUL Camp Check-In occurs from 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Day 1 of your registered camp session. Additional details will be available in the summer of 2025 and will be communicated to registered campers via email.

 

Commuter Camper Parking

Commuter campers will receive free on-campus parking during SOUL Camp. Specific parking details will be communicated to registered campers via email and provided online in Summer 2025. 

To park on campus, commuter campers must obtain a permit. There are free and paid permit options. Parking permits for the Fall 2025 semester are expected to be available on ULink in early August.

Schedule Highlights

Early Move-In Option

Those participating in SOUL Camp A and B will move into their assigned Residence Hall room during Check-In/Move-In on the first day of their camp session.

Krewe Time

Campers will be assigned to small groups, better known as Krewes during camp. Each Krewe will lead by two of our student mentors.

SOULcial

Campers will have access to our University Recreation Center at Bourgeois Hall. Camp participants can swim in our aquatic center, play beach volleyball, water volleyball, indoor volleyball, shoot some hoops, or just relax by the pool.

Community Service Project

During SOUL Camp Day of Service, campers will be grouped with student mentors and faculty/staff members from the University to complete a variety of community service projects in the Acadiana region. Service projects are coordinated by the UL Lafayette Office of Sustainability and Dean of Community Service.

Pump It Up!

Krewes will showcase their Ragin' Cajun pride through Krewe chants, cheers, banners, and skits. Each Krewe symbolizes a significant University tradition or special piece of campus history. During Pump It Up, you'll learn about the rich traditions, culture, and history that make our campus so unique.

Ragin' Routine Rounds

Ragin' Routine Rounds is designed to mimic a typical class day. Students will attend five "classes" on the topics of Personality, Career Preparation, Leadership, and Academic Success.

Remember, this is a four-day camp experience and we will be spending ample time outdoors. Please bring enough clothes and other personal items to ensure your own personal comfort.

  • Cajun Card
  • Completed and signed SOUL Camp Participant Agreement
  • Tennis shoes or other closed-toe shoes (required for Day of Service)
  • Casual summer clothes (t-shirts, shorts, flip flops, etc.)
  • Light jacket (some rooms are chilly)
  • Swimsuit and beach towel
  • Sleeping bag and/or bed linens (twin XL size mattress)
  • Pillow
  • Phone charger
  • Personal toiletries
  • Wash cloths and bath towel
  • Personal medications (allergy medication, Epi-pen, etc.)
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
  • Umbrella or poncho
  • Laundry bag (for wet/dirty clothes)
  • Personal spending money
  • Snacks (you are responsible for holding onto & storing your own)

 

Day of Service Packing List

  • Closed-toe shoes (that can get dirty)
  • Pants or shorts (that can get dirty)
  • Allergy medication and/or Epi-pen (if needed)
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses

  • Bug Spray

 

What Not to Bring

SOUL Camp is an official University of Louisiana at Lafayette event and will be tobacco-, drug-, and alcohol-free. Weapons or other destructive devices are not allowed at SOUL Camp. Any camper who brings such items will be subject to the University Code of Student Conduct and will be asked to leave camp immediately. 

All campers are required to submit the SOUL Camp Participation Agreement. Please print the form, fill it out, and turn it in during SOUL Camp Check-In.

Krewe de SOUL

At SOUL Camp, campers are assigned to a small group known as a Krewe. Each Krewe is led by two student mentors who will guide you through the camp experience and will continue to serve as a support system throughout your time at UL Lafayette.
