Discover research opportunities for UL Lafayette nursing students, from Sigma Theta Tau's annual research seminar to conference presentations and the University Honors Program.
Nursing students have real opportunities to get involved in research and scholarship, experience that strengthens your practice and your application to graduate programs. Nursing and health sciences students publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and present at state and national conferences.
Sigma Theta Tau: Accent on Scholarship
The Delta Eta Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing presents Accent on Scholarship, an annual research seminar, every fall, and includes a research presentation at its general meeting each spring. These events advance nursing scholarship and leadership and bring together students, faculty, and nurse leaders from the community.
Present at Conferences
Through student organizations such as the UL Student Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau, nursing students volunteer in the community and travel to national conferences to present research.
DNP Synthesis Project
Doctor of Nursing Practice students complete a rigorous synthesis project, applying research and evidence-based practice to improve patient outcomes, and present it on campus at the end of the program.
Honors
Curious, motivated students can also challenge themselves further through the University Honors Program — a university-wide community open to qualifying students in any major, offering honors coursework, a capstone Honors Baccalaureate thesis, and dedicated scholarships.
