About

The University of Louisiana at Lafayette is committed to ensuring that all digital content is accessible to everyone — regardless of ability, assistive technology, or device. This commitment is not only legally required under Louisiana PPM-74 and the federal ADA Title II final rule; it reflects the university’s broader values of inclusion, equity, and access.

Digital accessibility is a shared responsibility. Every college, department, and office that creates, publishes, or manages digital content plays a role in meeting that standard.

How We're Organized

Day-to-day coordination of the digital accessibility initiative is led by a central team spanning five functional areas: digital content strategy, distance learning, legal counsel, human resources, and IT. This team manages active implementation, monitors progress, and connects units across campus with the guidance and support they need.

The broader Digital Governance & Accessibility Council brings together representatives from every major division of the university to provide oversight, share expertise, and ensure that accessibility is addressed consistently and equitably across all units.

Requirements and Your Responsibilities

All UL Lafayette faculty, staff, and administrators who produce or manage digital content are responsible for ensuring its accessibility. The requirements apply to websites, course materials, documents, emails, social media, digital tools, and third-party platforms — not just the main university website.
