Teaching - Special Education – Elementary (M.A.T)

Earning your Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) from the College of Education & Human Development will prepare you to become certified to teach in Louisiana’s schools.

The M.A.T. is appropriate only for individuals who do NOT hold any teaching certification. This program is designed for those interested in acquiring initial teaching skills of students with mild/moderate disabilities at the elementary education levels along the special education continuum of placements. Students who enroll in this program have the opportunity to become certified in both General Education and Special Education Mild/Moderate at the Secondary level.
