Showcasing Student Projects from the First-Year Seminar!
At the conclusion of each Fall semester, participating UNIV 100 sections submit student projects for an annual UNIV 100 Showcase. The UNIV 100 Showcase was implemented to display the best student work from our first-year seminar. Ask your UNIV 100 instructor if your class will be participating. The Showcase Awards Ceremony will be held on February 22, 2024, at Jazzman’s Café located in Edith Garland Dupre Library. The ceremony will take place from 3 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. All UNIV 100 instructors, student participants, and peer mentors are invited to attend. Refreshments will be served.
As a student, you will have the opportunity to nominate your favorite UNIV 100 Instructor for UNIV 100 Instructor of the Year. This award goes to the Instructor who really made a positive impact on you for the semester. It is a way for you to thank that Instructor. At the OFYE Awards Ceremony, this Instructor will receive their honor. Peer Mentor of the Year will receive their award for their contribution to your courses. The Showcase winners will receive their ribbons and the acknowledgment of exemplary work on their project.
UNIV 100 Showcase entries are judged in the following categories:
- Creative / Arts
- Creative Written Work
- Humanities / Social Science
- Leadership / Service
- Research Papers
- Science / Technical
- Best in Show
