LLC Expectations

Living Learning Communities help you make meaningful connections between your academic, personal, and social experiences.

You’ll live and learn alongside peers who share similar interests and goals while building friendships, leadership skills, and a strong sense of belonging during your first year at UL Lafayette.

Participation in an LLC is a year-long commitment during your first year that enhances your college experience beyond the classroom. Before applying, please review the information below carefully.

Note to parents and supporters: We encourage you to allow your student to explore and select the LLC that best aligns with their interests, major, and goals. Your encouragement helps them take ownership of their college experience and build independence as they transition into university life.

Housing Information

All  LLCs are housed in Coronna Hall. Spaces are limited, and students may only be members of one community.

LLCs are about community—living, learning, and growing together! Each student will share a room with another member of their LLC. While private rooms are not available, this shared environment helps students form close connections and creates a supportive academic and social atmosphere.

Roommates: Students must live with a roommate in the same LLC. Roommates may be chosen if both individuals are in the same community.

Program Fee

A $75 participation fee will be added to your fall tuition bill. This fee supports programming, events, and resources that make the LLC experience engaging, educational, and memorable.

Academic Expectations

Each LLC includes linked courses designed to help you connect what you learn in class to your daily experiences in the community.

The Office of First-Year Experience (OFYE) will register you for your LLC courses for both semesters. These reserved courses are specific to your community and cannot be changed or rescheduled once assigned.

If you’ve earned AP or dual enrollment credit for a required class, please notify OFYE immediately so your schedule can be adjusted appropriately.
