Testing Center
The UL Lafayette Testing Center offers proctored testing, the administration of several nationally based examinations, and institutional examinations for students and faculty as well as non-UL Lafayette students by appointment only.
We adhere to the professional standards and guidelines for post-secondary test centers provided by the National College Testing Association (NCTA) and are members of NCTA, the Consortium of College Testing Centers (CCTC).
The Testing Center offers computer-based and paper-based tests.
Accommodations for those testing candidates that have special needs or conditions that require attention are available. Lockers are provided for individuals to store their personal belongings while testing.
Proctor Request for Professors
The ACT is a standardized test for high school achievement and college admissions in the United States.
Historically, the ACT consisted of four tests: English, Mathematics, Reading, and Science Reasoning. In February 2005, an optional Writing test was added to the ACT. The main four tests are scored individually on a scale of 1-36, and a Composite score is provided which is the whole number average of the four scores.

Required Valid Identification
Current pictured ID such as Driver's license, or passport, or military ID and an admission ticket must be presented at the time of testing.
The ACT On Campus at UL Lafayette is used to help determine eligibility for undergraduate admission. The Residual ACT given at ACT at UL Lafayette can only be used for ACT at UL Lafayette. These scores can not be transferred to another college or university, and no additional score reports are available. The Residual ACT can not be used for scholarships. The exam consists of four multiple choice sections: English (45 minutes), math (60 minutes), reading (35 minutes) and science reasoning (35 minutes).
How to Register
Examinees should call 337-482-6480 to schedule an appointment for this exam. The Residual ACT lasts approximately 4 hours. Examinees need to arrive at least 10 minutes early to complete registration.

Cost
The ACT on campus fee is $80 and is payable to UL-Lafayette. Military veterans will receive a $20 discount with valid military ID. This fee may be paid by cash, cashier's check or money order.
Required Valid Identification
Driver's license, or passport, or military ID must be presented at the time of testing.
Scoring Information
Test results will be available one week after completion of the exam. Only the person who took the exam may receive the test results. Instructions regarding when and where results can be obtained will be provided at the time of testing.
Use of Calculators
ACT permits examinees to use calculators on the mathematics test. However, all problems on the test can be solved without using calculators. Most four-function, scientific and graphing calculators may be used.
Testing for Students with Disabilities
The UL Lafayette Testing Center will provide extended time to examinees with a documented disability. The amount of extended time will depend on each individual case. The examinee must notify the Testing Center when scheduling an appointment and bring complete documentation with a letter of support from a medical doctor or other qualified professional stating the nature of the disability and accommodations requested.
Praxis and Paraprofessional (ParaPro) Assessment
The Praxis Series™ tests measure teacher candidates’ knowledge and skills. The tests are used for licensing and certification processes and include:

These tests measure basic skills in reading, writing and mathematics, subject-specific content knowledge and subject-specific teaching skills, that educators need for teaching. For more information about certification requirements, visit the state requirements section.
ParaProfessional Assessment:
The ParaPro Assessment is a general aptitude test that offers certification which measures the reading, writing and basic math competencies of practicing and prospective paraprofessionals. It also offers an objective assessment of a prospective teacher’s requisite foundation of knowledge and skills and the ability to effectively use those skills in the classroom.
All Praxis and ParaPro Assessment tests are internet-based examinations.
