Thank you for today’s conversation

Dear campus community,

Thank you to everyone who joined today’s virtual town hall.

I appreciate the questions and feedback shared during our discussion about the planned transition to a biweekly pay cycle. Since the announcement earlier this week, many have voiced concerns about how you will be impacted by this change. Please know that we hear you.

The concerns raised today are real and significant, and I recognize that many of you still have questions. I also recognize that this proposed change has deepened anxiety for some. That was not the intention.

I particularly appreciated those who raised questions and concerns on behalf of our graduate students, emphasizing the importance of ensuring student perspectives remain part of these conversations. That focus on students reflects the best of who we are as a University.

Let me assure you: today’s conversation is not the last one.

In the coming weeks, I plan to meet with the Faculty Senate, AAUP, Staff Council, Graduate Council and other groups to ensure there are additional opportunities for discussion, questions and feedback.

We will also consider additional public opportunities for conversation. Today’s meeting and these additional conversations will inform and impact how we implement the proposed changes to the payroll schedule.

For those who were unable to attend — or who would like to review information shared during today’s meeting — the presentation materials are available here.

I also encourage employees currently paid monthly to review FAQs, pay dates and other information on the Biweekly Pay Transition webpage.

Employees with questions may continue reaching out to Payroll Services at payroll@louisiana.edu or the Office of Human Resources at humanresources@louisiana.edu.

Thank you again for taking the time to participate, ask questions and share your perspectives. I look forward to continuing that dialogue in the weeks ahead.

Sincerely,

Dr. Ramesh Kolluru
President
