Join GSO President Sarah Smith for Your Next Pomodoro Work Session

For the second installment of our Pomodoro Pal series, Sarah Smith, Graduate Student Association President and Francophone Studies PhD student, joined us for a work session at the Student Union. Now that Sarah has finished up her coursework, she’s been plugging away at her dissertation research whenever she can.

Working alongside one of our Pomodoro Pals is an easy way to find motivation and support at any time. The Pomodoro Technique is a simple time management strategy that keeps your mind focused and working at its best. Timed 25 minute intervals of work are separated by short breaks, encouraging you to stay on task without tiring yourself out.

Before you begin, take a moment to get organized, plan out your to-dos, and eliminate unnecessary distractions. Then press play and get to work!

Sarah’s been working on a lot of exciting initiatives with the GSO, so be sure to tune in to their first Fall meeting Friday, September 11 at 1:30-2:30pm on Zoom. This is a great opportunity to learn more about what they have planned for the Fall and how you can be involved. The GSO will also be kicking off their first virtual Tea and Talk on September 15th from 4:00-4:30pm. Check in and chat with other graduate students about whatever you’d like!
