The mission of the College of the Arts is the cultivation of creative talent through a rigorous educational model tethered to conservatory ideals ensuring discipline-specific proficiency at the highest levels through individualized pathways. Driven by a commitment to the preparation of our students for success in professional practice, by outstanding, terminal degreed, and award-winning faculty, with industry experience — the College of the Arts prepares aspiring artists and designers across the nationally accredited program disciplines that comprise it for success upon graduation — and, if desired, competitively positions them for advanced and terminal degrees.
Our 30-year legacy as the only degree-granting college in the region fully dedicated to the arts, contributing to the creation of knowledge through research, ideation, and discovery, underscores our commitment to sustaining and advancing the University’s R1 Carnegie designation. As a college, we are positioned to empower students to thrive academically, professionally, and personally, fostering societal advancements.
