UPC is made up of three dynamic student boards — Cultural Connections, Student Activities, and University Traditions — that bring the Ragin’ Cajun experience to life through unforgettable events, creative collaboration, and hands-on leadership opportunities.
Whether you’re interested in planning large-scale events, celebrating culture, or keeping campus traditions strong, there’s a place for you on our team.
Cultural Connections
Celebrate diversity and share your story through cultural programming and educational events that inspire understanding and inclusion. As a member of Cultural Connections, you’ll help plan experiences like:
- Culture Shock lecture and event series
- For Colored Girls leadership and experience workshops
- Open Mic Nights and Culture Week
- Cajun Luau, plays, performances, and more
Your ideas help shape the events that highlight the many cultures, perspectives, and voices that make UL Lafayette unique.
Student Activities Board
Bring energy and excitement to campus life by creating events that help students connect, unwind, and make memories. SAB members gain valuable skills in event planning, marketing, and teamwork while organizing favorites like:
- Dive-In Movies
- Pajama Bowling
- Halloween events and haunted houses
- On-campus performances like hypnotist Chris Jones

University Traditions Board
Help keep Ragin’ Cajun spirit alive all year long! The University Traditions Board plans the biggest and most beloved campus events — from Homecoming Week in the fall to the Krewe of Roux Mardi Gras Parade and Ball in the spring. And don’t miss Lagniappe Day, our ultimate Cajun celebration with over 18,000 pounds of crawfish, live music, and games.
As part of the Traditions Board, you’ll lead events that bring the UL Lafayette community together and make memories that last a lifetime.
