Dance Minors

If you are pursuing a degree in another program but have a real interest in and passion for dance, the dance minor might be for you. There’s no restriction on who can pursue a dance minor.

You may consider minoring in dance if you:

  • Have significant dance training prior to coming to UL Lafayette and want to continue participating in dance classes
  • Want to hone your skills and feed your passion for dance
  • Seek to gain dance skills that complement your area of study to enhance career opportunities

Choose Your Focus

As a Dance minor, you have the freedom to shape your experience based on your individual interests and goals. Whether you're passionate about Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Hip-Hop, or eager to explore all dance, the program allows you to choose your focus and build a well-rounded minor that reflects your unique artistic voice.

With a range of technique classes and performance opportunities, you can deepen your skills in your preferred styles while gaining a broader understanding of dance as an expressive and evolving art form.

Opportunities to Perform

Dance minors are welcome and encouraged to audition for all departmental dance performances during the academic year. From faculty and guest artist works to student-led projects, there are numerous opportunities to perform, grow, and be part of the creative community, regardless of your primary area of study.
