Q: What are the graduation requirements?

Q: How do I apply for graduation?
A: Students must accurately complete and submit the Application for Degree and pay the $90.00 fee, which is posted to your Statement of Account as soon as you apply. The application can be accessed through ULink, and payments can also be made through your Statement of Account on ULink.
Q: How do I pay the $90 fee?
A: Once you apply via ULink, the fee is charged to your Statement of Account.
Q: What are the deadlines for the application?
A: To find the application deadlines for graduation, visit our important dates and deadlines page.
Q: If I cannot attend the Commencement Ceremony for the term in which I complete my degree requirements, can I participate in the next term’s ceremony?
A: No. Students may only participate in the Commencement Ceremony for the term in which they complete their degree requirements. If you are unable to attend that ceremony, you may not participate in a future term’s ceremony.
Q: What should I do if the name on my record is incorrect and I need it corrected for my diploma?
A: If your name needs to be corrected, please submit the Personal Identity Form by clicking HERE. This will update your official record, which is used for graduation processing and appears on your transcript and diploma.
To ensure your diploma reflects your correct name, the form and required documentation must be submitted by:
- Spring graduates: April 1
- Summer graduates: July 1
- Fall graduates: November 1
Select the appropriate option on the form:
- Correct spelling, add a middle name, or add a suffix: Select Legal Name Spelling and upload a valid ID showing the correct name.
- Complete legal name change: Select Legal Name Change and upload the three required documents.
If you submit a name correction after the applicable deadline, we cannot guarantee that your diploma will reflect the updated name.
Q: How long do the ceremonies last?
A: Ceremony times typically last 2.5 hours.
Q: Are clear bags required?
A: Yes
Q: Where do guests sit for ceremonies in the Cajundome?
A: Guests will have ample seating available in the venue and will be directed by staff.
Q: Are there accommodations for guests?

Q: Will there be a photographer taking pictures? Will there be gifts available for purchase?
A: The University has exclusive arrangements for floristry, photography, and video.
Q: Will there be any food available for purchase?
A: The Cajundome and Convention Center will have concessions available for purchase.
