“I was interested in health information management since I knew I wanted to work in the healthcare setting, but clinical care wasn’t for me. I love learning how to handle patient data and working with files and EHRs (electronic health records). I feel like I am actually going to make a difference in the business side of the medical field.”

“The dance program at UL Lafayette showed me there are a million opportunities for work in the field of dance outside of the realm of performance, including teaching, choreographing, arts administration, dance history, lighting, and costuming. UL Lafayette showed me how to find these opportunities, network, and market myself as a working professional in the field of dance no matter which avenue I decide on.”

“Today, I serve on two nonprofit boards providing mentorship for youths and advocating on behalf of sexual and domestic violence assault victims in Washington, D.C. Currently, I am board president for Big Dreamz, Incorporated and a board member for The Safe Sisters Circle.”

“I really enjoyed the classes that had projects to build things that were similar to real-world applications, such as the database and video game classes."

“Having not had much formal dance training prior to college — I was more of a musical theatre dancer — the smaller, more concentrated classes at UL Lafayette were beyond beneficial to me. Our teachers focused on clean/classic technique giving me a strong foundation for a career across styles.”

"My favorite part of studying at UL Lafayette is the community of friends and classmates I’ve built since arriving here. Almost all math majors know each other and are friends. Additionally, I’ve been able to make friends beyond the walls of Maxim Doucet thanks to the minors I am pursuing.”
