An invitation from the Gaines' Family

Published

"Dear Family and Friends,

We invite you again to the annual cemetery beautification to be held on Saturday, Oct. 29, 2016. The cemetery is located at Cherie Quarters on the Major Plantation in Oscar, LA.

It seems that every year more people come and we are delighted to see everyone. It is surely a homecoming. It shows that our deceased friends and relatives matter and are not forgotten. We all work together to keep the Cemetery Beautiful and their memories alive.

As usual whitewash for the vaults will be provided by the association, but we do encourage you to bring anything you can think of to make the job easier, such as rakes, brooms, paint brushers, rags, and garden gloves. You may also want to plant flowers.

We will begin at 8 a.m. with juice, coffee and doughnuts. We will finish about 2 p.m. and have continued fellowship and dinner at out home. We look forward to seeing you.

Best Regards,

Ernest J. Gaines, President

The Mount Zion River Lake Cemetery Asso., Inc."
