We accept appeals if you do not meet admissions requirements. This is a great option for you if you’re close to meeting our requirements and feel that the University Honors Program is right for you.
In order to appeal, please email a letter to the Honors Program at honors@louisiana.edu that:
(1) lists your relevant scores (high school GPA and ACT/SAT for First time Freshmen, and college GPA for continuing or transfer students),
(2) explicitly requests that you be admitted to the Honors Program despite not meeting requirements,
(3) explains why your scores are not representative of your current skills and abilities relevant to Honors,
(4) how you might resource yourself if the Honors Program if you find yourself struggling,
(5) describes how the Mission of the Honors Program is a good fit for you.
The Honors Director will then bring the appeal to committee and return with a decision. Finally, after you are informed of the decision you will meet with the director to discuss next steps.
