Spring Gala to Pay Tribute to Frank Mosing family

The UL Lafayette Alumni Association will honor the Frank Mosing family at its 2013 Spring Gala.

The Gala will take place from 6:30-10 p.m. on April 20 at the Alumni Center.

The late Frank and Jessie Mosing and their descendants will be honored for their commitment to the community and support of the University.

The couple married in 1928 after Frank, an Oklahoma native, met Jessie while working in the oil industry in Kansas. They eventually settled in south Louisiana, where the oil industry was expanding. In 1938, Frank and Jessie Mosing established Frank’s Casing Crew, a company they operated out of their garage.

Today, Frank’s Casing Crew and Rental Tools and Frank’s International are separate, privately owned companies. With offices in more than 40 countries, “Frank’s Worldwide” employs more than 3,500 people. The company has become one of the largest employers in Acadiana.

Managed and owned by four generations of Mosings, six of Frank and Jessie Mosing’s 12 grandchildren carry on the couple’s legacy in roles that range from chief executive officer to management positions in several departments throughout the company.

The Spring Gala is the Alumni Association’s only annual fundraising event, with food, entertainment and silent and live auctions.

Auction items will include original artwork, gift and travel packages, and Ragin’ Cajun merchandise.

Dr. Michael K. Judice, president-elect of the UL Lafayette Alumni Association, is chairperson of the Spring Gala. Angie Doyle is the auction chairperson.

Tickets are $200 per couple or $100 per person. Sponsor tables are available for $5,000; patron tables are $2,000.

Proceeds from the evening are dedicated to maintaining and improving the Alumni Center.
