Overcome Fear of Public Speaking at 'Presentation Survival School'

Published

A poll has shown that many Americans fear public speaking more than snakes or death.

But there's good news: a UL Lafayette Continuing Education workshop can help you overcome your dread of speaking in front of an audience.

"Presentation Survival School" can help you master skills that will make you a better presenter.

You'll learn:

• how to identify ways to gain rapport with your audience;

• techniques to reduce nervousness and fear;

• how visual aids can draw attention; and

• some different ways to prepare and organize information.

This one-day workshop will cover topics such as communication skills, positive self-talk, making the most of meetings, body language, sticky situations and your speaking voice.

It will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16. The fee is $250.
